The dog sledding trip with the local Inuit was a magnificent journey through a vast white wilderness, offering me the unique chance to learn more about the culture and history of the island and its people. Traveling on the sea ice was very special; and the whole trip was very well organized. The equipment provided was perfect (warm clothes, tents, food), and Rich was a wonderful guide, offering lots of additional information and stories, and also making us feel safe at all times (even in the 12 hour-or-so blizzard we experienced)."

It was an incredible trip and I was impressed with Matt's guiding and with Pirhuk in general. Matt operates in an extremely challenging environment and the combination of the vast local knowledge of Georg, Justus, and his other native Inuit partners with Matt's superb mountain guiding skills made for a truly unique, safe, and exciting, experience. "Last summer I joined the boat-supported trekking tour of Pirhuk’s, and again the experience was extraordinary! Walking in the remote landscapes admiring fjords, glaciers and mountains, crossing rivers and camping on beautiful coasts made this an unforgettable trip. "Incredibly professional and well prepared expedition along Sermilik Fjord! Pirhuk took care of everything, were incredibly responsive by email prior to the trip, and had really well maintained gear on the trek itself. I felt very well taken care of and they really had their act together when it came to bear safety. Not to mention that Rich was pretty much the best guide I've ever had. He integrated so well with the group I kept forgetting that he was guiding us. Despite his weird obsession with bizarre relish combinations and not knowing what goes on pancakes on the last morning, it was a fantastic trip all around. Having mostly great weather and a really wonderful group also helped, but if you're looking for a review on the company itself, I don't have a negative thing to say. Aces. All the best."

"After the epic storm last year we should’ve predicted that the weather would make the trip more interesting this time round! Helen, we felt completely supported the entire time, even while stuck in Reykjavik and you were pulling strings to get us to Kulusuk ASAP. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate three 50th birthdays as we moved through this incredible landscape with you, Justus, Mugu, Avanaa, Emanuel and eventually Simeon – as well as 60 dogs. Highlights seem too many to mention but include the epic journey to Sermiliigaq (or past it!) on the never ending sea ice/ sea slush and the warm reception in Avanaa’s house when we finally arrived…. Our exposure to the hunters and the cultural experience was fantastic and unexpected. We thoroughly enjoyed their humour, camaraderie and incredible hard work when the going got tough… you have an awesome team here, you’ve made us feel so welcome. We already know that we will be back. Thank you!"
