Tim is an IFMGA mountain guide based in the French alps, who has been driven to seek out wild places all his life. His career started in Northumberland (in outdoor education) and has continued all over the world. Tim has been involved in mountain training at every level, culminating in the role of Technical Director for the Association of British Mountain Guides, a post which he has held for 4 years.
Tim's personal climbing and skiing has taken him to every continent on earth. He has specialised in remote aviation and maritime operations and has been involved in many unique and original expeditions, both personally and professionally.
Tim's polar expertise comes from both poles. He first visited Antarctica 25 years ago (BAS) and still gets involved in specialist tourist expeditions most seasons. In the North, Tim has led many ski and sail operations in Norway, Svalbard and Greenland's South West coast. He first visited the East coast of Greenland on a personal sailing and climbing expedition and has been hooked on the region ever since. We've been lucky enough to have worked with Tim on a number of exciting expeditions, including a pioneering ski trip to Schweizland, safety roles in glacial terrain operating from boats, and family multi-activity adventures.
More recently Tim kayaked around Apusiaajik Island with his partner, exploring peaks along the way. Tim is a great guide and a lovely person to spend time with, both on the water and in the mountains.
