IFMGA Mountain Guide

East Greenland Ski Touring, Mountaineering & Trekking Specialists

I grew up in the South of Britain, on a diet of adventure literature, wonderful youthful escapades through teenage years in the British mountains and then the first trips to the French Alps.

After completing an honours degree at Sheffield University my career path made a radical turn. I moved to France, spent every possible moment up high in the mountains, worked a first, then second contract for the British Antarctic Survey and became a qualified UIAGM Mountain Guide.

Over twenty years later, I am still based in Chamonix, where I live with my wife and two children.

I work throughout the year as a mountain guide and each season has its own characteristics and associated mountain activities. I love the variety that this builds into my lifestyle. I also love to travel and the past twenty years of adventure guiding have given me the incredible opportunity to share a wealth of remarkable and unique experiences in remote, wild and magical locations worldwide.

I feel extremely fortunate to be able to visit Greenland and I am proud to be a part of the Pirhuk team.
