Mark's dedication and contribution to mountain guiding has had a deep impact on our profession. An IFMGA alpine guide for over 30 years, as a long-time technical director he's been pivotal to the training of many guides (Matt included). He's been a director on the IFMGA board and was heavily involved in the formation of the Swedish Mountain Guides' Association.
One of the early British guides to live and guide in Chamonix, he and Nikki went on to make a family home in the Scottish Highlands where he has headed up the Avalanche Information Service. He's climbed, skied and guided all over the world and also done a lot in high-angle filming and safety.
With this depth and breadth of experience together with a love for sharing time together in the wilds, it means a lot to us to have Mark on our small guiding team. He first visited this coastline in the '90's and enjoys exploring on skis during the cold months and on foot (often with a fly rod) in summer.
