East Greenland Ski Touring, Mountaineering & Trekking Specialists

With a lifetime dedicated to the mountains, seas and wild places of the world, Chris Forrest brings exceptional experience, calm leadership and a deep passion for exploration to every expedition.

Chris retired as Chief Instructor from Joint Services Mountain Training and previously held senior instructional roles at Plas y Brenin and Glenmore Lodge, the UK’s national mountain training centres. He is a UIAGM Mountain Guide, Level 5 Kayak and Canoe Coach, Level 4 Sea Kayak Coach, and BASI Level 2 Alpine and Nordic Instructor, combining a range of professional qualifications with decades of practical expedition experience.

His background spans big wall climbing, alpine ascents, remote first ascents, winter mountaineering, pioneering kayak descents and sea-kayak expeditions in some of the world’s most demanding environments. From long-distance journeys across the UK to leading and exploring in the far corners of the globe, Chris’s career has been shaped by curiosity, resilience, and a deep respect for wild places.

At the heart of his work is people. Chris is passionate about developing confidence, competence and enjoyment in the outdoors, using a safe, progressive and supportive approach whether guiding in the mountains, on the sea, or on remote journeys by canoe and kayak.

In recent years, Chris has been guiding regularly in Greenland and Antarctica, where he particularly enjoys sharing the scale, beauty and spirit of the polar regions with those seeking truly memorable adventures.
