We have been organising expeditions and exploring the mountains, glaciers and coastline of Greenland for many years. We can pass this experience on to you from the very first stages of planning your independent expedition, to heading out on the trip. A successful plan, to us, focuses on finding the most cost effective, reliable and exciting solution - from flights, to specialist information, equipment hire and logistics. Our local knowledge is unparalelled, and relevant information means success. Discussing your Greenland projects plans with us is as essential as taking the right equipment.
Independent Expedition Packages including the following:
Logistical Support
Reaching the remote areas of Greenland has traditionally been a extremely difficult. Many expeditions have resorted to expensive plane charter, often from Iceland. Our local expertise means that we specialise in finding the most cost-effective and reliable means of access to your expedition area. Our team of local dog sledders, boat drivers and pilots are the best in their field. We offer for charter:-
- Dog Sleds
- Motor Boats
- Helicopters
- Twin Otter ski-equipped planes
- Expedition, Radio & Firearms Permits
In many areas in Greenland the Danish Polar Centre requires that expeditions first gain a licence before entering the area. Licences are also required when carrying the obligatory epirb/PLB (personal location beacon) and firearms (polar bear deterrents). We can assist in gaining these licences (our hire equipment usually comes complete with a licence), as well as providing advice on the areas where an expedition licence is not necessary.
Area Info & Consultancy
Greenland offers countless incredible expedition objectives. However, finding information on areas seldom, if ever, visited by other teams can be near-impossible. Our expedition Guides would be happy to discuss with you your chosen objective or make suggestions as to new areas. We know many unclimbed mountains, unexplored glaciers and remote fjords that may be of interest.
We can provide advice on different systems, from sled hauling to kite skiing and crevasse rescue that we find work best in Greenland.
Please contact us for more information.
